When I Grow Up…
When Dianne was a school child, her teacher asked the students to write (in cursive) a short essay on “what they wanted to be when they grew up”. I’m sure the teacher was expecting many “astronauts” and “ballerinas”.

Times are changing…
In the not too distant past, there were options for rehoming a horse by auction. Not great, but many sold for high dollars to respectable, responsible horse owners. Many ended up selling for cheap and becoming “at risk “– or some lucked out and were saved by rescues.
Day in the Life at Happy Trails Horse Rescue
Bright and early every day we feed hay and water the herd. We muck every pen and make sure all fences and salt blocks are in good shape. We place eyes on every horse, checking for wounds or issues that need attention.

“The mission is to rescue, the dream is that one day, we won’t have to.”
Ultimately, we hope to help horse owners keep their beloved horse family members, even when times get tough. To provide hope when the only option appears to be to relinquishing their horse.
