River (aka as The Jokester)

Saved from a Warm Springs tribe round-up where he was separated from his family at about 4-5 months of age. His start was sad but he’s matured into a gorgeous gelding with lots of love to share! Once rescued he went through a foal gentling program with Reach Out To Horses by Anna Twinney but ultimately was weak and came down with pneumonia at the end of the week. He has been with us ever since and thankfully had a “grandma” and “great uncle” horse to teach him the ways of the herd, along with an older “brother and sister”. He has had a great foundation of gentling, light training and just being a youngster. He turns 4 years old around April 2025. Recently he had his “ground work / lightly under saddle” training where he did great including river crossing, bridge crossings, trailering, being ponied and light riding. At this point he is ready for further specific training! Just remember, even though he looks like an adult, he still has a bit of “baby-brain” which is why we call him “the Jokester”.
