Honey Girl (aka Speedy Gonzales)

Honey, a beautiful Quarter Horse mare, came from another rescue in the Eugene valley that needed a foster for her. Well…. we became “foster failures” and immediately fell in love with her – and so did Chiquita! The bond they have is amazing! Honey had been left at auction after a kill buyer won the bid but never picked her up due to her being skin and bones (no meat value). Thankfully, she dodged a bullet and landed at a rescue, where she got back into good shape and now is learning to trust people again. Honey is around 20 years old and sadly had a bad eye that needed to be removed. Being one eyed has not slowed her down one bit - which is why she is nicknamed Speedy Gonzales! She loves to bolt out the gate into the field and enjoys living the good life with Kita and her herd. Luckily, she has her bonded buddy Chiquita to help her along and keep her safe.
